Hello Readers!  I, on behalf of the third grade, apologize for the absence of new posts over the past month.  February was an extremely busy month for us in the 3rd Grade.  We have been extremely busy working on our units on Charlotte's Web, Energy, Fullerton's History, The Sacraments and Division.  Posted are some poems the students created using Google Docs for the first time this past month.  The poems are based on the main characters in Charlotte's Web.

We also started a new project that we will be working on with the 4th Grade - "A Week in the Life..." Flat Classroom Project (AWL - FCP).  We will be connecting with other 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students from around the world to learn about a week in their lives as well as sharing about our lives.  We are extremely excited to start this project and will try to keep you informed of the things we learn along the way.

Below is the digital handshake we created for the AWL Flat Classroom Project.  A digital handshake is a creative way of digitally introducing yourself to someone or a group of people.  You can use a picture with a description, video, audio recording, slide show or anything else that is digital.  We hope you enjoy our video created on www.animoto.com.

  1. Wow third grade! You have done SO much stuff this quarter! I am about to read your poems about Charlotte's Web. You are each such gifted writers that I can't wait to see what all you came up with!

Did you all work together to create your digital handshake? As many people say when shaking hands with others, "You have a very firm grip!" And your video tells me that you have a very firm grip on who you are!

I miss you guys! I'll email Ms. Botto an updated picture of the Hickles soon so she can show you guys. You wouldn't believe how big Robbie and Taylor are now! Also, tomorrow is Mr. H's birthday so we are going to be celebrating him!

    Love you!
